Just Rent and Trans Kft. · General Terms of Vehicle Rental
Terms and Conditions
- Driver's licence and age. A valid driver's licence held for over 2 years is required. The minimum age is 21 years. The Lessor is entitled to make copies of the Lessee's ID, driving licence, and passport. The Lessee must immediately notify the Lessor of any change of postal address.
- Deposit — private individuals. At the time of signing the Agreement, a deposit of at least 500 EUR will be held on the Lessee's credit card account (amount varies by vehicle category). If the rental fee exceeds the deposit, the Lessor may extend the hold. Business Associations operating for over 2 years may pay the deposit in cash upon presentation of required company documents.
- Deposit — purpose and repayment. The deposit covers the rental fee and any damage caused by the Lessee not covered by insurance. The Lessor may withhold the deposit until all damage is fully settled. If the vehicle is returned in accordance with this Agreement and the invoice is fully paid, the deposit will be refunded within 5 business days.
- Mileage and fees. VAT is payable on all fees. With a mileage limit of 3,500 km/month or 300 km/day, the rental fee includes routine maintenance. All other costs are borne by the Lessee.
- Payment. Upon expiry of the Agreement, the Lessee pays by credit card unless otherwise agreed. Legal entities may pay by bank transfer within 8 days with prior notification. Foreign currency payments use the MNB exchange rate on the vehicle delivery date.
- Late payment. Failure to pay on time entitles the Lessor to terminate the Agreement immediately and reclaim the vehicle at the Lessee's expense. Default interest is twice the effective prime rate. If the vehicle is not returned by the agreed date, the Lessor may collect it after 24 hours at the Lessee's cost.
- Lessor's right to refuse. The Lessor may deny rental without justification if it considers payment, ordinary use, or proper handling unguaranteed. The Lessor may also terminate the Agreement if the Lessee is more than ten days overdue despite a written demand.
- Vehicle handover. The Lessor delivers the vehicle roadworthy, fuelled, with all accessories as documented. The Lessee takes full responsibility and must operate the vehicle legally.
- Prohibited uses. The vehicle may not be sub-let, lent to unauthorised drivers, used under the influence of alcohol, medications or drugs, used for towing, racing, or driving school training, or smoked in. All resulting costs are borne by the Lessee.
- Pricing changes. The Lessor reserves the right to modify fees with prior notice. If the fee is raised, the Lessee may terminate with immediate effect. If the vehicle is not returned by the agreed time without an extension, the full rate list applies for the overdue period.
- Substitute vehicle. If a pre-booked vehicle is unavailable at the start of the rental period, the Lessor provides a vehicle of equal or higher category at the originally agreed price.
- Rental day / minimum period. One rental day = 24 hours from the time stated in the Agreement. Minimum rental period is one day; a two-hour tolerance applies.
- Extension. Extensions must be arranged with the Lessor at least 24 hours before the Agreement expires. Extensions are only valid when confirmed in writing by the Lessor.
- Vehicle care / keys. The Lessee must keep the vehicle, its accessories, keys, and documents with utmost care. In case of theft without the original key, alarm device, and papers, the Lessee is liable for the full vehicle value. Loss of keys, papers, or number plate: all replacement costs borne by the Lessee.
- Cross-border use. The vehicle may only be used outside Hungary with the Lessor's prior written consent and upon payment of a border crossing permit. The Lessor may refuse cross-border travel without justification.
- Insurance. The insurance fee covers the comprehensive vehicle insurance. Passengers and luggage are not covered.
- Permitted countries. Cross-border travel is permitted within the EU to: Austria, Romania, Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Italy, and Switzerland. Taking the vehicle to prohibited countries (including warzones, former Soviet Union states, Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Montenegro, Moldova, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Belarus, Lithuania, Latvia, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, United Kingdom, Denmark, etc.) may result in forfeiture of the deposit.
- Breakdown / accident. The Lessee must immediately notify the Lessor of any failure or accident and take reasonable steps to secure the vehicle. If the vehicle is temporarily unusable due to an accident, a replacement is provided under the same terms after the Lessee pays any insurance excess.
- Damage excess. If damage is not fully covered by third-party insurance, the Lessee pays 10% of the repair invoice (minimum 500 EUR). Total loss excess: 3,500 EUR. Glass damage: 20% of the damage. Additional insurance reduces the standard deductible. In case of theft, the deductible is due within 72 hours.
- Accidents — police procedure. In case of accident involving injury or damage, or if the other party is a foreign national, a police report is mandatory. All required insurance forms must be completed. If the insurer refuses to cover an event due to incomplete forms, all costs are borne by the Lessee.
- Insurance claims. The Lessee authorises the Lessor to act on insurance claims (loss adjustment, repair authorisation) arising from incidents involving the rented vehicle.
- Repairs. The Lessee may not have the vehicle repaired without prior consent, except for emergency roadside maintenance (e.g., tyre change, oil top-up). Permitted repairs are reimbursed by the Lessor up to 50 EUR against an invoice.
- Periodic inspection. The Lessee must present the vehicle for inspection at least once per month at the Lessor's premises (2220 Vecsés, Dózsa György Street 86.). Non-compliance incurs a daily rate per 100 km overdue.
- Odometer. The Lessee must immediately report any failure of the odometer. If unreported or tampered with, unlimited-mileage fees apply for the entire rental period.
- Fuel. The vehicle must be refuelled with the correct fuel type. Receipts must be retained. Incorrect fuelling costs are borne by the Lessee. If the fuel level at return is more than half a tank below delivery level, the Lessee pays for a full tank; if less than half a tank below, the Lessee pays for half a tank.
- Return. The vehicle must be returned on time, in business hours, to the agreed location, with all accessories, at the original fuel level and in the same condition (fair wear and tear excepted). Late return: one full day's fee per commenced day. Excessive cleaning (smoking, severe contamination): €20–€100 cleaning fee.
- Delivery / collection. If the vehicle is not picked up or returned at the Lessor's premises, a transport fee applies. Delivery or collection between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. incurs an overtime fee of 50 EUR. The vehicle must be returned exclusively to Just Rent and Trans Kft. employees, not to third parties (hotels, airports, etc.).
- Overnight / after-hours fee. See clause 27 above (50 EUR, 20:00–08:00).
- Traffic violations. The Lessee is liable for all fines, penalties, and related costs incurred during the rental period. Penalties may be charged to the credit card used for payment.
- Change of address. The Lessee must notify the Lessor immediately of any address change. Registered mail is deemed received 5 working days after posting.
- Legal status. The Lessee declares they have no ongoing criminal proceedings related to property offences. Legal entity representatives declare no liquidation proceedings are active.
- Marketing. By providing an email address, the Lessee consents to receiving promotional information. The Lessor may only use the address for this purpose. An unsubscribe option is available on the official website.
- Dispute resolution. Disputes shall first be resolved by negotiation. Unresolved disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Arbitration (Budapest) operating alongside the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce. Hungarian law applies.
- Governing law. Matters not covered by this Agreement are governed by effective Hungarian legal regulations and the Civil Code provisions on property rental.
